Storytelling, Retreats and Spiritual Direction

At the heart of every great story is a call to personal and communal change and transformation. In my work I like to blend traditional storytelling with personal and small group reflection.  I choose stories gathered from different times, cultures and traditions.

I have been involved in retreat work for more than 30 years and have worked with a wide variety of groups, lay, religious and clergy.  In my retreat work I explore classical stories  and folktales; bringing a storyteller's eye to Christian scripture.

I offer individually guided and input creative style retreats

The Christian Scriptures are full of stories of Threshold encounters. Among these are Hagar and Jacob in Genesis, Moses at the burning bush in Exodus and the Samaritan Woman in John’s Gospel.  These stories continue to remind us that such mystical encounters unfold when we least expect them and very often at the darkest moments on life’s journey.
